Pre-Surgery Instructions
Please, no food or water after 9 pm the night before surgery, except for kittens less than 6 months and puppies less than 6 months who should eat a small meal (wet food) in the morning, before 6am.
Keep your pet inside the night before surgery. If allowed outside without close supervision he could find food, grass, mice, birds or other delicious dead things to eat.
If your pet has eaten after 9 pm or if it is unknown if he has eaten, surgery cannot be done that day. The animal could regurgitate food, inhale it and die.
Admission for cats is between 8 and 9:00 am. If you are bringing a dog, please come between 8:30 and 9:00. The vet. and tech. come at 8:30 and will want to weigh the dog, listen to the heart and lungs and then give the dog pre-sedation so that by the time you leave, your dog will be relaxed and not so worried. If you come before 8:30, you will need to wait.
All cats must come in individual carriers or boxes. All dogs should be on leashes. If your dog is dangerous to people or pets, please leave him in the car while you do the paperwork and get staff assistance.
The clinic is on the corner of 2nd and Maple. It is a 2 story, white house with a small sign in the front yard. Perhaps the easiest way to find it is to proceed down 3rd street, turn at Dairy Queen (only one way possible) and go to the end of the block. We are on the left corner.
Thank you for your help in making this procedure as safe and stress free as possible.
