Spay/Neuter
is FREE!

At SNIP House:

Feral Cats are FREE

We implemented a program that began in January 2006 in which we spay or neuter, vaccinate, deworm and combo test if ill, feral cats for free.  This has resulted in 511 feral cats being trapped, treated, and returned to caregivers.

Kittens are FREE

Among our most important program is the "spay your mother cat for $30 and the kittens are done for free.”  Kittens must be between eight and twelve weeks old, weigh at least two pounds each and the entire litter must be altered.  This has resulted in the sterilization of 1681 kittens before they have produced their first litter.

Pit bulls are FREE

Prineville has had a serious problem with an over abundance of pit bull terriers and there have been pit bull fighting groups here for decades.  This is a law enforcement problem as well as an animal welfare issue.  We decided to address this community problem in June 2006 by initiating a "free pit bull" program.  So far, 41 of these dogs have been altered and the number is increasing every month as the word gets out.
