Our Staff

Veterinarian: Dr. Angie Kemper D.V.M.  (Formerly Angie Struck D.V.M.)

Angie graduated from Oregon State University in 1998.  She then completed the 4 year combined veterinary teaching program of Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon and Washington State University in Pullman, Washington.  She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 2002.  Following graduation, Angie completed a 1-year internship at the Pioneer Equine Hospital in Oakdale, California in equine medicine and surgery.

Following her internship, Angie returned to Central Oregon and practiced at the Redmond Vet Clinic for 2 years.  During this time, she gained more experience treating both small animals and horses.

In 2006 Dr. Kemper established her own practice.  In addition to traditional medicine, Angie has pursued her interest in Eastern medicine by studying and completing courses in Chinese herbal medicine and by becoming certified in Veterinary Acupuncture.

In 2008, SNIP was extremely fortunate to welcome Angie to our staff and to our mission of preventing unnecessary euthanasia in Crook County.   With her surgical skills, her impressive knowledge of disease and disease processes, her versatility in her methods and choices for treatments and probably most of all, her concern for and commitment to each animal, she is an incredible blessing for SNIP.

Certified Veterinary Technician:  Katie Poole CVT

Katie is one of our most precious assets.  Katie has 12 years of experience as a Certified Veterinary Technician.  She had many years of experience when she started with SNIP in 2003.  Since those early days, she has had the additional experience of more than 12,000 spay/neuter procedures, making the technical challenges of her job relatively straightforward if not easy.

Katie has an incredible ability to focus, concentrate, and keep track of a myriad of details as she works.  She is aware of the condition of each animal in her care and has developed a 6th sense about which animal needs a different approach.

She is amazingly knowledgeable, helpful and professional with clients, totally dependable and devoted to each animal and its best care.  She is irreplaceable.
